I guess that’s a question that we will be asking for as long as we are alive, but here are a few ideas:
Some kind of idea or thoughts of how to save money
1. Clip Coupons and buy at discount stores:
Most of us have seen the shows of extreme couponing, but not all of us have the time to devote to coupons like that, so is couponing still that money conscious? Yes it still is. By using coupons, and shopping at clearance sales we can save ourselves a lot of money. Many stores have sales for buy one get two free with coupons, with this we can freeze two and save these for future use. Also buying items at discount stores can be a great way to find wonderful deals. The Dollar stores that are in almost every town have some great deals, but as with any deal, if it sounds too good it just might be. So do your homework and be sure to check before you buy.
2. Make a budget and stick to it:
By making a budget and sticking to it helps you to see where your money is going, where you can save money by cutting your expenses and in the end helps you to control excessive spending. A budget will help you to see if you spend too much money on eating out or on insurance and any other items.
3. Stop the Credit Card Splurge:
Credit cards are costing you a lot of money in excessive interest and finance charges, the same goes for checking accounts that are not free. Make sure your bank has a free checking account and does not charge for transactions, as this is wasted money. As far as those credit Cards; get rid of them if you can’t pay them off every month! Your motto should be…”if I don’t have the money right now, then I can’t afford it!”
4. Make it yourself:
Don’t spend money on those expensive box mixes, most of them can be made simply with fresh ingredients. If you have a young baby, making baby food is easier to make then you may think. There are many recipes out there. Join Pinterest, and find recipes and patterns to make yourself. It’s not as hard as it may seem.
5. Take steps to save on electricity and power bills:
There are many things that you can do to lower your electricity bills, here are just a few. Line dry your clothes instead of using your dryer; use a programmable thermostat; use ceiling fans; weather proof your home; use LED or CFL light bulbs; unplug electronics at night; and wash laundry in cold water.
These are just five ways to save money, there are so many ways to cut the extras out of your budget. But by following this list, you can help to lower your costs and help your family to save money without changing their way of life. Who knows you might find that these changes will make your life a little better in the long run.
