If your bedroom needs a breath of fresh air or you are looking for something new to change things up, try one of these following seven ideas for redecorating your bedroom.

Redecorating Bedroom Ideas

1. Change the walls.

If you have wallpaper or paint colors that you dislike, this can be easily remedied. Pick a fresh new paint color, a decorative stencil, or a wallpaper of your choice and make the change!

2. Change the flooring.

One of the most important things about flooring is how it feels on your feet! Change your flooring to what feels best for you, whether it is the cold, clean feeling of hardwood or the soft, lush feeling of new carpet. Taking your shoes off will be your new favorite thing to do!

3. Change your color scheme.

If you have had the same color scheme in your comforter, fabric colors, and window treatments, you can look into updating the color scheme. Recover chairs or other furniture with fabrics to match the new walls and flooring. Pick a new window treatment and bedding set that coordinates, and you are on your way!

4. Bring in some warmth.

Incorporate warm colors into your bedroom with rich fabrics on your bed, updated window treatments, and eye-catching throw pillows. You can also bring in some potted indoor plants, and could even try putting clear lights on a plant if that is your style.

5. Make it more romantic.

If you want your bedroom to be a place for romance, try putting silk or satin sheets on the bed, adding scented candles and fresh flowers to various locations around the room, and bringing a stereo into the room for playing music when needed.

6. Update your furniture.

Many people have had the same furniture in the bedroom for years. Some of us have beds and dressers, but no matching furniture or sets. If your budget allows it, buy a new bedroom set! Giving your bed a headboard and/or footboard will give it a very updated look, and having a matching dresser, chest of drawers, and end tables brings everything together in a cohesive manner.

7. Make your bedroom a relaxing getaway.

A bedroom can become a place where we store things, and clothes and other items can start to pile up on chairs and other places around the room. The first step to making your bedroom a relaxing getaway is to declutter the room. Organize your room so that everything has it’s place. After the clutter is gone, you can start to bring in items that you find relaxing. If you do meditation or yoga, make a space in the room to lay down the yoga mat or meditate. If you love to read, create a nook in the room where you can curl up with a good book.

No matter if you are on a tight or an unlimited budget, this list of seven tips has something for everyone. Redecorating your bedroom doesn’t have to be a daunting task, just set your mind to the end goal that you have, and go for it!
